The best time to install BTO flooring is during the renovation period, before you move in. HDB typically allows 3 months for renovation after key collection. We recommend booking your flooring installation within the first 2 weeks to ensure your preferred products are available and to coordinate with other renovation works.

For BTO flats, the original HDB tiles are usually in good condition, so hacking is not necessary. Installing SPC flooring over existing tiles saves S$800–S$2,000 in hacking costs and reduces renovation time. However, if you prefer a lower floor height or want to install heated floors, hacking may be considered.
